ABOUT US

Franklin County Senior Citizens Council is a 501c3 whose purpose is to contribute to the welfare and improvement of the Franklin County Community, and especially its Senior Citizens. The Franklin County Senior Citizens Council maintains a senior center located in Carrabelle.  The Franklin County Senior Citizens Center provides recreational, educational and wellness activities for those age 50 and older. It is open every weekday from 12:00-5:00 pm for games, billiards, ping pong, darts, reading, 60" TV, and free WiFI.  The center also serves a weekly lunch special Thursdays starting at 12:00 pm for just $8, which includes a drink and dessert. Meals go fast so come early! This meal is available to the public. Check our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/fcscenter, for this week’s menu. The center is closed on Saturday & Sunday.

The center is a 6800 square foot building with a commercial kitchen located on a large grassy lot directly across from Tillie Miller City Park. This center is available for use by partner and outside groups for social gatherings, including games, clubs, yoga, exercise classes, community events, and Carrabelle Art Association meetings. This facility is available for event rental by the public. There is no age requirement for rental of the facility.  Give us a call for more information!

Saturday, October 7, 2023

Make plans to join us for the 2023 Bay Fest & Tate's Hell 5k at St. James Bay Golf Resort on Saturday, October 7, 2023 to enjoy a day of family fun including a 5k run and walk, pickleball tournament, live music, delicious food and much more.  This event benefits the Franklin County Senior Citizen Council.

Bay Fest & Tate's Hell and Back 5k will be a full day of outdoor adventure on Saturday, October 1, 2022. The event will take place at St James Bay Golf Resort and includes fun for the entire family. The 7th annual Tate's Hell 5k Run & Walk is the anchor event which begins at 8 am.

More Family Fun!! We have so much in store this year.  After the 5 K Run & Walk, we’ll have a National Bike Safety Course / Bike Rodeo and a Pickleball Tournament! And did we tell you that Rockulla Music is back!! And a key lime pie bake off where you can enter your pie or just taste and vote. The SUNTRAIL bike trail will unveil its expansion through Franklin County with videos, maps and other info. Plus yummy food specials all day!! Oh yeah - the awesome auction returns and it will be bigger and better. Better plan for a fun-filled day with us at St James Bay. Remember all this fun goes to support the Franklin County Senior Center in Carrabelle.

Tate’s Hell & Back 5 K Run & Walk:

Race starts at 8:00 am. Race Day registration and shirt/number pickup begins at 6:45 am. The run and walk winds through the wooded forest and meanders through wetlands (via a boardwalk) along the cart path and streets of the beautiful St. James Golf Resort. St James Bay property backs up to Tate’s Hell on the Crooked River.  Price for Registrations received before September 1st – Adults $25 and Youth $15 (under 18). Mailed after September 1st or Race Day (shirt not guaranteed) – Adults $30 and Youth $20.

 

 

Pickleball Tournament:Update:

EVENT FULL. Registration is CLOSED for Bay Fest Pickleball Tournament 2022! There are 8 team slots (16 total players each) for each level - Beginner/Adv Beginner (2-2.5) and Intermediate/Advanced (3+).
